Lamb

We have a pedigree flock of Shetland Sheep. They are hardy little sheep originating from the Shetland Islands. They are bred for their coloured fleeces and naturally lean meat. This meat is renowned for its succulence and delicate, slightly sweet flavour. The lambs are fed on quality grass and hay throughout their lives. We also have a flock of Suffolk cross sheep, and a new flock of pedigree Lleyns who are fed in the same way. They produce bigger lambs. The meat is hung for three weeks to ensure perfect texture and maximum flavour. We hope you enjoy it. We prefer lamb to be ordered as a whole or half lamb. Two people can share a half lamb so if you don’t know someone who wants to share with you call Sally and she should be able to pair you up with someone else.

Mutton

We also produce mutton which is meat from sheep that are above two years of age. Mutton is hung for at least two weeks to ensure maximum flavour and is usually available from october to march. Shetland Sheep have a reputation for producing good quality mutton. Click here for further information about mutton

Pork

We have two Saddleback cross sows. They live outside with room to shelter and warm straw bedding for winter. They eat a completely natural diet with no routine medication, and have their bellys and ears scratched everyday. It is great fun when the piglets are born, usually 12 to 14 at a time. Pork comes in small, medium and large mixed boxes which include sausages and chipolatas. Smoked and unsmoked gammon and bacon can be ordered separately.

Eggs and POultry

We have a small flock of ducks, geese, turkeys and chickens which allows high welfare standards. All of our birds have total freedom to roam in the fresh air. The chickens are often seen enjoying dust baths in the summer and keep us on our toes by going for strolls down the road when they feel like it. We recently gave an incubator and eggs to a Childrens Centre in CRoydon and the pre-school kids loved seeing the eggs hatch and now keep 4 hens for eggs in the centre. We sell oven ready free range chickens and ducks and take orders for turkeys, geese and extra large chickens at Christmas. Our prize winning eggs are available at the farm gate, but are very popular so sell very quickly. Chicken Eggs are £1 per half dozen, Duck Eggs £1.10 per half dozen.

Beef

We have a small herd of Sussex beef cattle and have beef available in the shop. If you would like text reminder when fresh beef comes in please let us know. Keep an eye on the news feeds for updates.
